Man gets stuck in the mud trying to flee B&E

A St. Clair Township man is facing break and enter charges after his vehicle got stuck in the mud while he was trying to flee the scene of the crime.

At around 8 a.m. Saturday, Lambton OPP were called to a rural outbuilding on Burman Line in St. Clair Township regarding a break and enter.

Police said the witness saw the suspect attempt to leave the area after loading items into his vehicle. After getting stuck in the mud, police arrived to find the man removing the items. He was then and arrested without incident.

The 34-year-old man was remanded in custody following a bail hearing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
