Prohibited driver allegedly caught with drugs, weapons

A 38-year-old driver from Warwick Township is facing drug and weapons charges after being pulled over by Lambton OPP.

Provincial police said a suspected prohibited driver was seen behind the wheel of a vehicle on Nauvoo Road in Brooke-Alvinston on March 21.

The driver allegedly gave police a fake name.

During a search, officers seized an unspecified quantity of suspected controlled substances and prohibited weapons.

Damian Hunter was charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, obstructing a peace officer, operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, and failure to comply with a prohibition order.

Charges against the accused have not been proven in court.
