Alleged impaired drivers arrested

A couple of drivers stopped by Lambton OPP on separate occasions are accused of driving while impaired.

Provincial police said they were contacted about an erratic driver on Rokeby Line in Enniskillen Township at around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Officers stopped a vehicle and suspected the driver "consumed an intoxicating substance".

A 27-year-old Oil City woman was charged with operation while impaired.

Meanwhile, a 54-years-old Arkona driver was arrested during a RIDE check.

OPP set up a checkpoint on Townsend Line in Lambton Shores on March 26. Police said the driver was stopped at 8:20 p.m. and was arrested following a roadside test.

The driver was taken to an OPP detachment where they provided two samples over the legal limit. The accused was charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

Police are asking residents to report drivers suspected of being impaired by contacting OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or *OPP (677).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
