Sarnia Fire and Rescue battle Lanark Crescent blaze

Two people were injured in a house fire Sunday morning.

Sarnia Fire and Rescue were called to a blaze at a rowhouse in the 800 block of Lanark Crescent shortly after 8:30 a.m.

Thick black smoke could be seen coming from the upstairs window when firefighters arrived.

Fire Life Safey Educator Mike Otis said there were three people in the home at the time and one person was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The Ontario Fire Marshal was notified and the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Otis said damage is significant. A neighbouring home and a vehicle were also slightly damaged.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
