NOVA, Pembina conducting maintenance

NOVA Chemicals is doing some maintenance at its Fairview Pipeline compound.

The company said the community may notice a temporary ground flare at the site, located at the south end of Fairview Boulevard and south of LaSalle Line, on Wednesday.

NOVA said the work was linked to turnaround activities at the Corunna site, which started Tuesday.

NOVA said residents in the area would likely see elevated flaring and increased noise over the first few days of that outage which is expected to last three months.

Increased traffic -- especially between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., and 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. -- was also expected.

Pembina is also conducting maintenance activities.

The company says neighbours may notice elevated flaring until Sunday at its site off Highway 40, south of Lasalle Line.
