LPH reports 138th COVID death

Lambton Public Health is reporting another COVID-19 death in Sarnia-Lambton.

The health unit reported Monday the death toll has risen to 138. The latest was an individual in their 60s who died in hospital.

There have been 135 new lab-confirmed cases recorded since Friday's update, for a total of 11, 387 since the start of the pandemic over two years ago.

There are four active outbreaks. At Lambton Meadowview Villa, there have been 55 cases recorded among the residents and nine staff members since April 7.

The Petrolia long-term-care facility is home to 125 residents.

Bluewater Health is reporting 18 COVID-positive patients, of which fewer than five are in the ICU.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
