Single vehicle crash takes out hydro pole

No serious injuries were reported in a crash over the weekend that took out a hydro pole.

Sarnia police said at around 4 a.m. Saturday, a vehicle travelling west on Exmouth Street left the road and struck a hydro pole near Earlscourt Drive.

Police said the hydro pole fell, landing on a vehicle parked in a nearby driveway, resulting in significant damage.

The driver and lone occupant, a 73-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No charges have been laid at this time.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
