Construction work planned along Highway 402

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is advising of two construction projects planned along the Highway 402 corridor.

The ministry is completing work to resurface the eastbound lanes near Sarnia, as well as the Indian Road and Mandaumin Road interchanges. The contract was awarded to Coco Paving Inc. and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2022.

The ministry is also doing some work from Hickory Drive to Longwoods Road in Strathroy Caradoc.

That project includes the resurfacing of the eastbound and westbound lanes. The contract has been awarded to Dufferin Construction and is also expected to be completed late fall 2022.

The MTO said the travelling public can expect reduced lanes on Highway 402 and short-term ramp closures within the project limits which will facilitate pavement resurfacing.

Advanced public notice of upcoming ramp closures will be provided through temporary roadway signs as well as Ontario 511 updates.
