City Councillor Colquhoun asking for pay suspension following breach

Sarnia councillor Nathan Colquhoun is recommending he be found guilty of breaching the code of conduct.

In a motion to council, Colquhoun admits that he shared a letter received from the KOJO Institute following training session November 15, and identified some councillors as being hostile during a separate closed meeting.

Colquhoun is asking that his pay be suspended for three months and used to pay for private diversity and inclusion training for two specific councillors, Bill Dennis and Terry Burrell.

Councillor Colquhoun said the action should bring an integrity commissioner investigation to an end.

He is also asking staff to determine how much the investigation has cost the city so far and report back at the next meeting.
