Firefighters battle grass fire

Sarnia Fire and Rescue responded to a large grass fire Wednesday evening.

The blaze broke out at around 6 p.m. at Lottie Neely Park off of Highway 40.

Thick black smoke was visible from the area for short period of time.

Firefighters were on scene for about two hours.

Sarnia Fire and Rescue reminds residents to fully extinguish and properly dispose of cigarette butts in a metal container with sand or water.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
