McHappy Day raises over $21K for Access Open Minds

Sarnia residents filled up on Big Mac's, chicken nuggets and fries on McHappy Day.

The community raised $21,758.98 for Access Open Minds, a youth mental health and addictions hub expected to open in the fall.

Over $8,250 was raised for Ronald McDonald House London.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario (RMHC) supports families traveling to Windsor or London for treatment.

More than 1,400 restaurants across the country participated in McHappy Day last Wednesday.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
