Elevated flaring at NOVA sites

Elevated flaring is expected at two of NOVA's regional facilities Tuesday.

Spokesperson Julia Iacovella said higher than normal flaring is anticipated at the Moore site and Fairview Pipeline Compound.

She said the flaring is linked to the ongoing turnaround at NOVA's Corunna facility.

NOVA has nearly completed the first month of a three month shutdown that started April 19.

The turnaround is part of the site’s expansion and the start-up of a new polyethylene facility later this year.

The preventative maintenance and improvement work also includes tie-ins for the Corunna cracker expansion project.
