Mix of hot and cold temperatures and rain expected over long weekend

If you're camping this long weekend, you're going to want to pack some rain gear.

The Victoria Day long weekend will start off hot and humid Friday with a high of 29 C, 84 F and humidex values around 36 C, 97 F.

The mercury is expected to drop below seasonal for Sunday and Monday.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Peter Kimbell said we're in for a bit of everything this long weekend.

"It's going to be a wet weekend but mostly on Saturday and early Sunday so expect some rainfall," said Kimbell. "But, expect also some summer-like temperatures because Friday it's going to be quite warm, it's going to feel like summer. But when we get to Sunday and especially Monday it's going to feel pretty cool, highs of 17 and 16 Celsius. So, cool weather, warm weather and rain and probably a thunderstorm thrown in there, we'll get a bit of everything."

The average daytime high for this time of year in Sarnia-Lambton is 21 C, 70 F.
