Small earthquake felt near Corunna Monday

A small earthquake was felt in the Corunna area on Monday afternoon.

Sarnia News Today received several calls and emails from residents, saying they heard a 'massive bang' and felt their houses shake.

Natural Resources Canada Research Scientist Allison Bent said the seismic event happened at around 3:49 p.m.

She said the magnitude was 2.5 and it was very close to Corunna.

It was just large enough for people near the epicenter to feel but too small to have caused damage or been felt at large distances.
