Fallen Firefighters Association accepts donation from Lambton College

Lambton College has presented the Ontario Director of the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Association with a significant donation.

Chief Janny Pape was given a cheque for nearly $30,000 at the fire school on LaSalle Line earlier this week.

The money was raised during the 9/11 memorial stair climb at Progressive Auto Sales Arena last September.

The climb was held on the 20th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Centre that claimed the lives of 343 New York City firefighters.

Over 45,000 U.S. was raised by over 200 participants.

Lambton College Fire Science Professor Scott Brown said funds would also be directed to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation in the United States.
