LCCVI to reopen as OPP find no 'imminent threat'

Students and staff at a Petrolia high school will be able to return to the classroom on Monday following a potential threat reported on Thursday.

The Lambton-Kent District School Board (LKDSB) opted to close Lambton Central Collegiate & Vocational Institute (LCCVI) and switch to virtual learning on Friday after threatening graffiti was found.

OPP continue to investigate but do not believe there is an imminent threat to public safety at this time.

"We will continue to work closely with Ontario Provincial Police Service to ensure a safe learning environment for everyone," read a release from the school board.

Members of the LKDSB Mental Health and Wellbeing team will be on-site on Monday to offer counselling.
