Arrest made after threatening message found at LCCVI

A 16-year-old from Plympton-Wyoming has been arrested and charged after a threatening message was found on Thursday, June 2 in a washroom at LCCVI.

The Petrolia high school was closed to staff and students the following day as a precaution.

An investigation was conducted by Lambton County OPP School Resource Officer (SRO) with assistance from members of the Lambton County OPP Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services.

As a result, police were able to identify and arrest the accused Monday evening.

The youth is facing charges of uttering threats and mischief, and has been released from custody.

They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia at a later date.

The OPP said if residents observe suspicious behaviour or threatening messages while in a public place, workplace or school, call 911 immediately.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
