Police investigating fatal four-vehicle crash

Sarnia police say a woman has died and two people suffered serious injuries in a four-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.

First responders were called to the intersection of London Line and Blackwell Side Road at around 3 p.m.

Cst. John Sottosanti said the deceased, a woman in her 80s, was ejected from her car and pronounced dead at the scene.

The two people who were injured were occupants of one of the vehicles. They were taken to hospital with what were believed to be non-life threating injuries.

Sottosanti said the area was closed until approximately 10:30 p.m. and that a pole was also damaged at the scene.

The service's Traffic Unit and Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the incident. Anyone with information or video of the crash is asked to contact Detective Alex Cunningham at 519-344-8861, extension 6237.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
