The first full week of Tourism Sarnia-Lambton's latest musical initiative is underway.
The organization has been highlighting local artists and businesses during Music Week.
Tourism Sarnia-Lambton (TSL) Executive Director Mark Perrin said this initiative has been in the works for a while.
"From our standpoint, we've never really promoted how much live music takes place throughout Sarnia-Lambton," said Perrin. "It's incredible when you start putting together the restaurants, and the drink producers, and the events that are happening on weekends. I think when looking at the calendar, this is probably the largest scale for when all these events are taking place."
TSL launched the initiative on June 18 and it will run through to Saturday, June 25. A full schedule can be found below.
"We encouraged local venues to book musical talents throughout that time period. Then from TSL, we're actually sponsoring each performance so each venue will receive $100," he said.
Perrin said these types of initiatives have taken place in other cities so it's hoped it's something that can grow each year.
Music performances continue to be added to the schedule. Updates can be found at OntBlueCoast.com.
