Sarnia church closing after over 130 years

After 132 years in Sarnia, St. Paul's United Church is closing.

The Devine Street church will hold its final service this Sunday at 10 a.m.

The congregation has been invited to visit following the service and view some of the artifacts saved over the years, including some from the original church that was destroyed by arson on August 11, 1963.

The final service will also be streamed online for those unable to attend.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
