Petrolia Community Fund receives 'dough' from Pizzafest

Those involved with the 2022 Petrolia Pizzafest have donated $1,802 to the Petrolia Community Fund.

A cheque presentation was held during this week's regular council meeting.

Bud’s Family Pizza, Godfathers Pizza, Johnny G’s Premium Pizza, Petrolia Pizza Hut, Petrolia Pizza and Subs and Wise Guys Inc., each contributed to the donation.

The ninth annual Pizzafest was held in early June at Victoria Park.

“More than 2,500 people enjoyed the pizza, family fun and ice cream,” estimated Director of Facilities and Community Services David Menzies. “The value of an event like this in downtown Petrolia stretches far beyond selling pizza in the [park], it reaches our downtown businesses, impacts our Farmers’ Market and encourages visitors to stay in town longer.”

More than 7,200 pizza slices were sold at the event.
