Slight increase reported in local COVID-19 cases

Although the average number of lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lambton County has gone up slightly, there are no COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health. 

In its weekly update, Lambton Public Health reported 34 new cases since its last report on June 22.

The average number of infections per day over the last seven days is now at five, which is up from three reported last week. 

The health unit has reported a total of 12,009 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. The local death toll has remained unchanged at 146.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
