Here’s what’s open and closed on Canada Day Friday, July 1, 2022:

-Post Office: Closed, No Mail Delivery

-Sarnia Transit:- Buses running from 9 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Special bus service to Canada Day celebrations at Canatara Park from Bayside Terminal from 9:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. NO Service between 9:45 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.

-Banks & Trust Companies:- Closed Friday

-Beer and LCBO stores:- Closed Friday, except Confederation Street Beer Store, open reduced hours.

-Cannabis stores:- Some open with limited hours

-Stores:- Most closed Friday including Lambton Mall

-Government offices (Muni. Prov. Fed.):- Closed Friday

-Garbage collection:- Normal (Sarnia)

-Schools closed for summer

-Blackburn Radio Sarnia Offices:- Closed

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
