Over $20K raised for Ukraine

A recent fundraiser held in Sarnia-Lambton to support those affected by the war in Ukraine has raised over $20,000.

Lighthouse's fundraiser for Ukraine held in June, raised a total of $20,936 through personal donations, auctions, and a dinner.

Funds raised will be split between Ukrainians who are temporarily housed in Lambton County, and Tearfund (a Christian charity helping in Ukraine).

A Facebook page has been set up to offer support to Ukrainian families who are in Sarnia-Lambton.

Local humanitarian Johnathan Verroen, who spent months in Europe to help with resettlement efforts, is expected to fly back soon.
