Awards handed out during Women’s Invitational

Winners have been announced for this year's Sarnia Golf & Curling Club Women’s Invitational.

The local event was held on Tuesday.

Susan Postian and Jane McKinnon of Sunningdale and Golf Canada were the Overall Low Gross Champions with a team best score of 72.

The Overall Low Net Champions were Nanette McDonald and Debra Lucas of Golf Canada with a team net best score of 64, winning in a four-team playoff.

Lastly, Nicole Bigras and Lori Duncan were named the winners of the 2022 DJ Robb Trophy for low net team with a net score of 64.

The Men's Invitational was held last month.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
