Camaro seized at Blue Water Bridge

Taking a classic car across the Blue Water Bridge has cost someone much more than anticipated after its value was allegedly incorrectly declared.

The Canada Border Services Agency said a red 1969 Chevrolet Camaro was declared at $70,000 USD but was actually valued at $126,000 USD.

As a result, the Camaro was seized and the traveller paid a penalty of $33,549 CAD.

Border agents said Customs Act charges are pending.
