Windsor man charged with trafficking drugs in Sarnia

Sarnia police seized over $35,000 worth of fentanyl and meth during a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

Cst. John Sottosanti said the service's Vice Unit had been actively investigating a Windsor man for alleged drug trafficking in Sarnia.

After gathering enough evidence to arrest the suspect, officers pulled over a vehicle in the area of Trudeau Drive at around 4:40 p.m. and took the accused and a passenger into custody.

During a search, police located 168 grams of light pink coloured fentanyl, 27 grams of crystal methamphetamine and $1,000 in Canadian currency. Sottosanti said the total value of the substances is approximately $35,760.

Derrick Alan Pillon, a 42-year-old man from Windsor, faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of breach of probation, and three counts of failing to comply with a release order.

The passenger, 28-year-old Jordan Laura Daye of Corunna, faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Both accused were being held pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
