Bright's Grove Music Fest to support hospital program

Donations collected during Bright's Grove Music Fest this weekend will support the Bluewater Health Pediatric Diabetes program.

Local musicians and vendors will gather at Kenwick Park on Friday and Saturday.

Organizer James Snider said the all-ages event will feature a variety of music genres "to appease the masses."

"The event is all about highlighting local talent in the way of musical performances and local vendors. It's just all about the community," he said.

Gate open at 3:30 p.m. both nights. Music acts will be on stage from 4 p.m. until 11 p.m.

Thanks to the event's various sponsors, there is no admission fee. However, those willing to donate are encouraged to do so.

Snider said the organizing committee chooses a different charity to support each year. The last Music Fest generated about $7,000 in donations.

"Each year, our donation has actually exponentially increased," he said.

Friday night's performers include Sarah Stevens, The Gypsy Flats, Full Disclosure, Retrospect, and Big Shiny Toons. Saturday's artists include Acoustic DJ, Dead Engine City, Chain Reaction, Johnny Five, and Aces High.
