UPDATE: Slow moving storms to bring heaps of precipitation

The rest of Thursday and possibly Friday could be wet and stormy according to Environment Canada.

Shortly after noon Thursday, the weather agency issued a special weather statement citing heavy rainfall in slow-moving thunderstorms is expected to move through parts of the region including in London-Middlesex, Sarnia-Lambton, Oxford County, and the southern parts of Huron-Perth counties.

At around 3:30 p.m., Environment Canada lifted the special weather statement.

Meteorologists said between 30-50 millimetres of rain is possible in locales that receive multiple thunderstorms or prolonged heavy rain from showers.

The alert followed Wednesday's turbulent weather forecast which included severe thunderstorm watches and warnings, a rainfall warning, and tornado watches and warnings in some parts of midwestern Ontario.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
