Fishing Super Series attracts 47 teams to Sarnia Bay

Just under 200 fish were weighed in Saturday's Great Lakes Super Series from Sarnia Bay.

A total of 47 teams competed in the second of three qualifiers ahead of the GLSS Championship in Belle River, September 10 and 11.

Belle River's Rob Matthews and Kyle Nead took top spot in the tournament with a bag of 26.74lbs.  The pair reeled in five fish and collected 100 points and $5,000.

Natalie and Aaron Hathaway, from the London area, were the "big fish" winners with a catch with of 6.18lbs.  They finished fifth overall in the competition with a bag of 23.28 lbs.

There were a total of 199 fish released with a total weight of 773.51, an average weight of 3.89 lbs/fish.

The third and final qualifier of the super series will take place in Windsor on August 27.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled
