Heavy equipment taken from work yard

Sarnia police are investigating the theft of several pieces of heavy equipment.

It's alleged the break and enter happened at a work yard in the 200 block of Scott Road, sometime between 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 27 and 8 a.m. Monday, August 29.

Police said a suspect entered the yard through the fence and then accessed a dump truck and trailer holding an excavator, before using the dump truck to smash through the fence when fleeing.

A single axle dump truck with a white cab, blue box and the faded number 535 on the side, licence plate number AK10177 was taken. Also stolen was a double axle grey trailer with several attached buckets and ramps on the back, licence plate number L5634R, and a white 2022 Bobcat Mini-Excavator.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
