Public school in Camlachie closed on Friday

It's only a couple of days into the new school year, but students at a Lambton County public school will be learning from home Friday.

The Lambton-Kent District School Board (LKDSB) announced Thursday evening that Errol Village Public School in Camlachie will be closed on September 9 due to water issues.

School officials say an unexpected water disruption which affected access to bathrooms and water led to an early dismissal Thursday afternoon.

"Students will receive instructions about their transition to remote, teacher-led virtual learning as per their typical means of communication," a release from the LKDSB read.

The board has not yet confirmed when it expects the school will be up and operational again. It has advised the school community to check the board's website and social media pages for updates about the situation and plans to reopen the school to students.
