Royal Canadian Legion to rededicate Petrolia cenotaph

There is a rededication planned at the cenotaph in Petrolia this weekend.

The cenotaph in Victoria Park was originally unveiled by Major Fairbank 100 years ago, in honour of those from Petrolia and Enniskillen who died in the First World War.

The cenotaph, which has a statue depicting a young grieving Canadian soldier, was completely restored in 2012.

The town of Petrolia and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 216 will hold a public rededication ceremony to mark the 100 year anniversary at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 24.
