Sting trade Hill to Spirit for picks

The Sarnia Sting have traded overage forward Theo Hill to the Saginaw Spirit for three draft picks.

The Sting will receive Saginaw's 11th round 2024 OHL Priority Selection in addition to London’s 4th round pick in 2025 and Saginaw’s 4th round pick in 2026.

Hill, 20, spent three seasons with Sarnia, recording 35 goals and 47 assists in 180 regular season games.

The Hagersville native was fourth in team scoring last season and was named the OHL Player of the Week in March.

Sting GM Dylan Seca said Hill has been a tremendous player and a proud member of their organization over the last four years.

"This trade puts him in a situation where he can continue to excel as a player. We thank Theo for his passion, pride, and commitment.”

OHL teams are allowed to carry four overage players, 20-year-olds, on their roster and three overage players are able to dress in a game.

The Sarnia Sting begin the regular season September 30 in Kitchener.
