Pedestrian struck at Sarnia intersection

One person has been rushed to hospital by ambulance after being struck by a vehicle at a busy Sarnia intersection.

City police were called to a collision involving a pedestrian and motor vehicle on Monday, sometime between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., at Christina Street North and Michigan Avenue.

Cst. John Sottosanti said the extent of the pedestrian's injuries were unknown.

He said members from general patrol and the traffic unit were expected to remain on scene for several hours to investigate.

The intersection of Michigan Avenue and Christina Street was closed.

The public was asked to avoid the area.
