Sarnia Sting bounce back with solid win against Greyhounds

The Sarnia Sting convincingly beat the Sault Ste Marie Greyhounds 6-2 on Sunday afternoon at Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

The Sting got out to a two goal lead in the first period with markers by Ethan Richie and Ty Voit.

The second period saw the Greyhounds bring it to within one with a goal by Matthew Virgilio. However, Sarnia countered with two goals of their own from Marcus Limpar-Lantz and Sandis Vilmanis, bringing the score to 4-1 at the second intermission.

The third period saw much of the same with the Sting continuing to have success on the offensive end.

Marko Sikic scored his first goal of the season while Ty Voit scored his second of the game and fifth of the season.

The final score of the game was 6-2 in Sarnia's favour, bringing their season record to 3-1 as they currently sit atop the west division standings.

Sarnia is home to the Owen Sound Attack on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. on CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
