Windy conditions forecast Wednesday

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for Sarnia-Lambton on Tuesday, advising of heavy winds in the forecast for Wednesday.

The national weather agency said strong southerly winds, gusting up to 90 km/h, will develop ahead of a cold front Wednesday afternoon. Winds are expected to ease Wednesday evening or overnight with the passage of the front.

We're reminded that stronger wind gusts will be possible in showers or thunderstorms.

Environment Canada said gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events. Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.

High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
