Alvinston Aces claim fastball championship

The Alvinston Aces are league champions once again.

The Aces hammered the visiting Glencoe Astros 9-2 in the finale of a best-of-five series Tuesday night. The Aces won the final two games by a combined score of 20-3 to take the series 3-2.

It's the Aces third Southwest Middlesex Fastball League 'A' playoff championship in four seasons. The league was paused for the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

The Aces finished the postseason with a record of 8-2. The ballclub finished the regular season in second place with a record of 12-2.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
