The public is invited to get a first hand look of the new East Lambton Community Complex.
The new facility features a new YMCA fitness centre, gymnasium, banquet hall, and meeting room, along with upgrades to the existing arena.
In a news release, Warwick Township Mayor Jackie Rombouts said the community has been planning and waiting for this community complex for many years now.
"It is so exciting to be able to see it opening,” said Rombouts. "Council is excited to be partnering with the YMCA to bring new and improved programming to Warwick Township. These programs will help our community to heal from the effects of the pandemic and improve our overall health.”
Construction of the project, originally estimated at $11.5 million, started in the spring of 2021. Warwick Township officials say work will actually come in under budget, at $10.7 million.
The open house Wednesday is on from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
