IODE holds commemorative ceremony in Sarnia

A dedication ceremony, to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth II, will take place on Saturday at Coronation Park in Sarnia.

The IODE Errol Egremont Chapter received a $5,000 grant from the Department of Canadian Heritage earlier this year. They partnered with Climate Action Sarnia-Lambton to plant a total of 41 trees at the park.

The City of Sarnia's parks department helped with the installation of a bench, which included a commemorative plaque.

Government dignitaries and members of the IODE are expected to attend Saturday's ceremony at 11 a.m.

The IODE Errol Egremont Chapter was founded in 1980.

The national women's charitable organization is dedicated to supporting education, community service, and citizenship programs.
