Bluewater Health shows off new helipad to Transport Canada

Transport Canada officials got a first-hand look Wednesday at the new helipad at Bluewater Health.

Certification by the federal institution is necessary in order for the Sarnia hospital to gain a license to transport patients.

Bluewater Health hopes to be able to use the landing area to move patients by next month.

Construction on the $1 million project began in May.

A landing demonstration was held earlier this month at the helipad with Ornge, which provides air ambulance and associated ground transportation services across Ontario.
