School collects cozy items for 'Socktober'

Students and staff at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Sarnia have collected 785 pairs of new socks to be donated to local charitable organizations.

"Thanks to the entire school community for supporting this event," read a media release from the St. Clair Catholic District School Board. "Special thanks to Mrs. Rachel Shortt for organizing!"

The socks will be donated to the Inn of the Good Shepherd and the Fresh Start Project.

The Fresh Start Project is a non-profit organization, helping people transition from a shelter to a home. The Inn of the Good Shepherd collected just over 2,000 pairs of socks through its "socktober" campaign.
