Local family appreciative of benefit concert

Fewer than 100 tickets were sold for a benefit concert in Sarnia but organizers are grateful for the support received for the Bressette family.

A benefit concert was held at Imperial Theatre on November 1, to support the family of Patrick Bressette. He died of cancer earlier this year and left behind a wife and six children.

Organizer Derek George said 78 tickets were sold and the concert raised over $1,600.

Between the concert, donations received at the theatre, and a contribution from George and his wife, just under $2,200 will go to the Bressette family.

Even though they didn't reach the goal of selling 300 tickets, George said the family was very appreciative of the effort and support.

"They kept giving us hugs. They were happy," he said.

George said fees associated with the performers and advertising were covered, thanks to the sponsors.
