Kimberly Bressette has been elected chief of the Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation.
Polls closed in the 2022 election Friday night.
Unofficial results show that Bressette received 404 votes, compared to the 275 votes Jason Henry received.
Henry was first elected as chief in 2018. He stepped away from the role briefly during his campaign in the 2021 federal election as NDP candidate for the Lambton-Kent-Middlesex riding.
Nine people were elected to council. Elected members include Elizabeth Cloud, Alvin Wolfe, and Ronald (Spike) George, Jack Brown, Carmen Rogers Jr., Melissa Monague, Stanley Wade Cloud, Marshall Emory George, and Larry Vince George.
