Fire crews battle stubborn weekend blaze

Firefighters battled a stubborn blaze Sunday on Lasalle Line.

Petrolia and North Enniskillen Fire Department responded to a structure fire near Marthaville Road, along with support from Plympton-Wyoming and Alvinston fire stations.

Crews were on scene for several hours before the fire was contained. No injuries were reported as everyone made it out safely.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and damage is estimated at around $320,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
