Kathleen Ave. fire sends one to hospital

One person was taken to hospital Tuesday morning for possible smoke inhalation after a structure fire sparked on Kathleen Avenue in Sarnia.

Firefighters, police officers, and paramedics were called to the scene around 11 a.m. The Sarnia Professional Firefighters Association said the incident took place near the intersection of Kathleen Avenue and East Street South.

Sarnia Fire later posted an update on Twitter and said damage was estimated at around $1 million since the blaze damaged five units.

The fire is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sarnia police.

Sarnia Fire later confirmed that the Ontario Fire Marshal's office was contacted about the blaze.
