New executive named at Bluewater Health, Lambton Elderly Outreach

A longtime Bluewater Health employee has been promoted to fill positions left vacant as Paula Reaume-Zimmer transitions into her new role as president and CEO of the hospital.

Lisa Regan has been hired as the hospital's new vice president of care transitions and as Lambton Elderly Outreach's (LEO) new chief executive officer.

“Lisa is a wonderful fit for LEO," said LEO Board Chair Anita Trusler in a statement. "She has worked collaboratively with our organization in the past and is well positioned to lead our team in the provision of excellent community support services moving forward. She has the leadership, integrity, and innovation skills we need to build a strong integrated community care model in Sarnia-Lambton.”

Regan, a registered nurse, is currently the director of emergency services and care transitions at Bluewater Health.

Outgoing President and CEO Mike Lapaine spoke highly of her.

“I’ve worked closely with Lisa over the years, including during the pivotal period of transitioning services to one hospital in Sarnia,” said Lapaine. “During that time, she worked diligently with all hospital departments and effectively led a smooth transition plan for all patients and staff to the new hospital location. Her leadership style was always that of coach, mentor, and dedicated resource to her team and colleagues.”

Regan's career with Bluewater Health has spanned several decades.

She started at Sarnia’s St. Joseph’s Hospital as an ICU nurse, and has held various leadership positions in the last 33 years.

“Lisa’s leadership and work over the years has exemplified a mindset of integration and partnership to optimize resources and streamline access to care for patients and families,” said incoming President and CEO Paula Reaume-Zimmer. “Having been in an integrated executive leadership role over the last several years, it was important to me that my successor had those partner relationships and that innovative spirit and experience to lead such a diversified role.”

Regan will start her new executive role on January 1, 2023.
