Alleged impaired Lambton driver arrested in Essex County

A 22-year-old Dawn-Euphemia man has been slapped with a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension after he was allegedly caught driving while impaired on Highway 401 in Lakeshore.

Essex County OPP said a vehicle was stopped on November 26 at around 3:40 a.m. after a suspected impaired driver was reported to police.

The driver was charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, failure or refusal to comply with a demand, and operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code.

In addition to the licence suspension, the vehicle was impounded.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor at a later date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
