Winners of the annual Celebration of Lights residential competition have been announced as several Sarnia-Lambton houses were 'lit' for the holidays.
First place was awarded to the residence located at 177 Christina St. S.
Second place went to 73 Turner Dr. The residence at 440 St. Lawrence Ct. won third place and the Harvey McMichael (People's Choice) Award.
The first place Children's Choice Award was given to 75 Ashby Cres. and second place went to 280 Laurentian Cres.
The deadline for the lighting competition was extended because initially, there were only 10 entries. After the fact, there were over 40 entries, with some located in Corunna and Petrolia.
Sponsor and volunteer awards were also handed out during an event Monday night.
The Outstanding Volunteer Award was given to Leanne Reyneart and Leslie Cadwallader. Meanwhile, the City of Sarnia received the Outstanding Gold Contributor Award.
