More coke seized at Blue Water Bridge

Border officials at the Blue Water Bridge seized 84 bricks of suspected cocaine from a commercial truck late last year.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) said on December 14, a truck that entered Canada at the Point Edward border crossing was referred for a secondary examination.

During the inspection, CBSA discovered a large quantity of the suspected narcotic, weighing roughly 84 kilograms.

The 55-year-old driver was arrested and the suspected cocaine was seized. Chander Sidhar of Caledon is charged with importation of cocaine, and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

The matter is currently before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia.

The drug bust came three days after CBSA seized 89 bricks of cocaine at the same border crossing.
